Global Warming: Evidence, Inspiration for Action,
Solutions
A positive series of talks hosted by Voters Taking Action
on Climate Change
focused on refreshing our commitment to action and reaching
out to others.
Tuesday February 5th: Global Warming: More
than hot air? Dr. David Chapman, professor of geophysics at
the University of Utah and renowned speaker on global warming,
reviews the scientific evidence that climate change is caused
by human activity.
You should come to this talk if you want an interesting, accessible
update on the causes of global warming, and a renewed sense
of the urgent need for action.
Bring along a friend who remains skeptical of the arguments,
or who has never really understood what all the fuss was about.
Tuesday February 19th: Global Warming: Spiritual
Crisis and Opportunity. Bruce Sanguin, Minister at the Canadian
Memorial United Church and author of Darwin, Divinity and
Dance of the Cosmos explores where we can find motivation
for action.
You should come to this talk if you want to be inspired to
reconnect with people and the planet in order to get on with
the work of restoring our climate.
Bring along a friend who despairs that humanity can change
its ways and come together for the shared work we have ahead.
Tuesday March 4th: Lessons for the Future
from Canadas Climate Policy Failures. Dr. Mark Jaccard, professor
in Resource Environmental Management at SFU and an award winning
author of numerous books on climate and energy policy, critiques
where Canadian governments have gone wrong in fighting global
warming and highlights policies which can reduce emissions.
You should come to this talk if you want to be able to distinguish
a market mechanism from a regulation or voluntary initiative
and understand which one can reduce emissions most efficiently.
Bring along a friend who is cynical that any government has
the ability to reduce emissions, or who thinks that the solution
to this problem lies outside the world of public policy all
together.
For more information on the talks go to www.vtacc.org
All events at 7pm. Canadian Memorial United Church (15th and
Burrard). Free admission.

Card's My Friend" And "Money Comin'".
As Proffet says,"The great golden vault in the skyline
is going to open and we're all going to get rich! PRAISE
MONEY!"
You'll sing, you'll dance, you'll be enraptured and forever
transformed. You'll feel the direct deposit of eternal salvation.
